Read the Bible Daily: Online Bible Reading Plans
God desires a personal relationship with everyone! In fact, the core of Christian beliefs is based on a Transcendent God desiring a mutual, loving relationship with His Creation. In order for this to occur, He had to give up His only begotten Son, so that we (His Creation/sinners) could spend eternity in Heaven with Him. That is why the anthem of Christian beliefs is John 3:16.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." -John 3:16
And the only way to develop any kind of personal relationship with someone is by spending time with that person to get to know them. That is why spending time in God's Word is essential to developing that personal relationship with God! This is not a suggestion, but an obligation! We must get into the Word daily.
This can be all "summed-up" by quoting a simple children's song that our kids sing in Sunday school. It goes a little like this:
If you read your Bible and you pray everyday...pray everyday...pray everyday. You will grow...grow...grow. And if you don't read your Bible and pray everyday... You will shrink...shrink...shrink!
I know this is an extremely simplistic idea, but if you ignore God's Word, then you are going into "spiritual battle" unprepared, and at your own peril!
